  • Xanga No. 126 ~ One Nostalgic Cartoon~

As I was surfing around Youtube. I came across one really old and one of my most favored cartoon when I was just 6 years old.

I am talking about none other than the funniest cartoon that everyone loves. The never ending cat and mouse chase. Tom & Jerry.

It captured the moment and made me remember of all the laughter and joy I had when I was watching this cartoon. It is so cute and funny and so violent at the same time!

And as I look back at these Nostalgic Cartoon. I've realized that there were so many elements in the cartoon (besides the violence) that made it so memorable. I've never realized that it made the impact without me even noticing it. Until this very day!

From my point of view, I think what makes it the way it was, was the directors and the background music/ sound effects. Especially the really old ones. When it was
directed by William Hanna & Joseph Barbera, it was really funny. The background music sounds really good! It makes the cartoon even funnier. And that, I have to give the credit to Scott Bradley (the guy who does the music). If you guys dont know what I mean, you can watch this one just compare it with the newer one.

    Here's the old one,
When it was directed by William Hanna & Joseph Barbera, and Music by Scott Bradley.

    But the newer ones

Embed has been disabled for the newer ones for some reason.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4_XYfXyPOE

When it's Directed by Chuck Jones and Music by Eugene Podanny.
In my opinion, it is somewhat, less funnier.

So yea, but despite that. I still love the cartoon. It just brings back memories!

Here's another episode, just as a bonus. (of course, the directors and music are by the same older batch of people.)
    Enjoy!

  • Xanga No. 126 ~A new musical instrument... well sort of...~

That's right, I am now learning a new musical instrument. Yes I do love drums and I plan to keep it as my no. 1 instrument. But now I have a second interest... it is none other than (drum roll) the guitar.....hero!

Didn't expect that now did you? But all jokes aside, this guitar-like joystick for the home game consoles and the PC is probably one of the most innovative gadgets that was ever made. Because when you play the Guitar Hero/ RockBand games, it really does make you feel like you can actually play the guitar because when you tap on the buttons and strum it at the same time in sync when the colored notes are coming down the video screen, you'll get to hear the song's guitar notes and does make you feel like a Rock Star!

Other than the Wii, This guitar-like joystick truly is one of the most creative game designs known to this day.

This Guitar Joystick doesn't just look cool, but it was also surprisingly cheap. I got it at a price of RM 200.00 only! The great thing about it is that it is not just playable on the PlayStation 2 but also compatible with the PlayStation 3, and the PC! A big plus to this is that it is wireless control, the minor thing is that it runs on 3 AA batteries, but it wont drain the battery life so easily.

The only downside about this is that if you are a guitar player, I would not recommend you to play it because it is probably going to mess with your fingering on a real guitar. Luckily for me, I just play drums. So enough with me talking, time to pop the thing in my game console....

    pop in the video game...

    And start rocking!

The only downside about this, even though it has only five buttons...

It is not as easy as you think...

Despite that, there is also a bright side...

    I learn fast! (laughs)

Wish I could play the game like this dude.

P/S. Thank you all fellow readers and youtube fans, the video of me doing a drum cover for Miley Cyrus - 7 Things has reached to 10,000 over views and over 90 comments. Thank you all and yes I promise that I will make more videos. In the mean time, continue to rock and enjoy this video once again... This is Raymond Goh, signing out.

  • Xanga No. 125 Larry&Pauline

    http-equiv="CONTENT-TYPE" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> name="GENERATOR" content="OpenOffice.org 2.4 (Win32)">

First off, I would like to say congrats on the newly weds. My brother Larry and her girlfriend Pauline are now husband and wife. The Chinese traditional wedding which happened two weeks ago on 6/6/09. When I say traditional, of course I dont mean the Church one. But the chinese one where the in order for the guy to marry the girl, he has to go give a whole entire pork to the girl's family, secondly, he has through a no. of tasks before he can get into the house. Once that happened, the guy then has to say a pledge about his commitment to her. Only then may he proceed to enter the room where the bride is. So enough of me talking, now for the pictures...

    P/S to all the fathers...Happy Father's Day

  • Xanga No. 124 ~ The Most Beautiful Woman In The World !~

There is absolutely no one in this world,
    that can compare to you.

Nobody can ever show me kindness,
    like the way you do.

Who can cook such amazing meals like you?

It is your unconditional love that continues to amazes me.

No matter how I have been naughty,
you gave me the rod of discipline.

    It is because of you,
that I can become the handsome, young man I am now.

Who could ever tell me stories at night,
when I was a little child.

    And sang songs,
    when I was afraid.

You loved me since the day I was born,
and I never knew how much it pains you that I have disobeyed you from time to time.

Yet you still show grace and embrace me in my time of need.

Whenever I am happy, you celebrate with me.

When I am sad, you comfort me.

No matter how far I go, I will always remember to love you.

No matter how old you might think you are,
    you will always to me,
be the most beautiful woman in the world.
    I love you mom.

    Happy Mother's day.

    Your son,
    Raymond Goh

P/S. Remember to hug & kiss your mom on Mother's Day!

  • XANGA No. 123 ~ Holidays + Spring Cleaning = Discovery~

Well, I have been having my holidays for the past 2 weeks and I still have one week to go... Many of you might think that having a long holiday is awesome, which is in some extent, but too long of a holiday really makes a guy like me bored and unproductive.

So to keep myself from not boring myself to death, besides drumming and exercising. Last Tuesday, I did a li'l spring cleaning of the closet room (cause' I promised my mom I would) while I was cleaning up the place, I couldn't believe all the stuff we had, books, old VHS tapes, some of my old WWE Magazines (used to have a yearly subscription of those) .

IT was really nice to see some of the old and yet fascinating stuff, but one particular thing that really caught my attention. An old plastic bag and inside the plastic bag...I found this...

Which I thought was jsut some ordinary mat, but once I opened it up...
Oh man!!!! It's the Dance Dance Revolution mat for the Sony PlayStation 1 (which I gave the console to my cousin)!!! I have not seen this thing for more than 7 or 8 years and I thought either my brother or I lost it.
Now that I found it, I wondered if it was compatible with the Sony PlayStation 2.

So I unplugged the regular joystick, popped it in, and guess what?

It fits!!! Thank God that the controller was compatible.

Now that I know it's compatible I really did not think it would work, but out of curiosity, I tried. So I popped in the Dance Dance Revolution game (I know the characters look corny) and what do you know???

The mat still works! Although no one touched it for over 7 to 8 YEARS! Be one the look out everyone, cause I might start to dance in those gaming places like a pro! =P

    update:
My results for my first term came in, and I got a pass on all of them

Introduction to Marketing -                            High Distinction
Microeconomics -                                            Distinction (6 marks away from getting a high distinction)

Although I only have 3 Hi-Ds I'm still quite happy with my results. Praise God! =)
